Classic Motor Show - Nec

Post  TimS on Mon Oct 05, 2009 10:34 pm

The LDC is booked and ready to go to the NEC in November. As in past years we shall be representing the club at this top event on 13th to 15th November.
We will be in hall 3 in the 'Prestige & Performance' area as last year.
Five stunning Lotuses will be on show to represent our club and it's members cars.
There is a link on the home page of the forum which gives you all the background information.
We hope to see you there.
Cheers,
Tim Steel & Eddie King - LDC show organisers.

Thoroughly enjoyed the show last year, plenty to see and even the Top Gear show live, which I am trying to hold back from. Not quite sure what days we will be there, four nights and three days was a long time last year but well worth it. Main aim this year will be to hustle those insurance companies on show now that I am 23 Laughing

Yes we are looking forward to it as well, I will try and do a sensible rota this year so we have plenty of cover but all get to see the show.
Cheers, Tim.

Eddie / Tim

As discussed with Eddie at the last meeting my car is certainly available for the show. I am intending to be at the show on both Friday and Sunday (probably pm only) if that helps with your rotas.

A little tip for those going.
Parking charge is 8 GBP at the NEC
Parking at Hampton in Arden is free & the return train fare is 3 GBP/Person.
Travel time on train about 10 Mins.
The last time I did it I met an exhibtor on the Platform & he gave me a free Ticket.
It doesn't get better

Cheers

The NEC Classic Motor Show starts tomorrow (Friday 13th !) through to Sunday. Show opens at 9.30 am until 6.30pm and 5.30pm Sunday.
Lots to see and plenty of entertainment, if you are planning to come, make sure you drop in at the LDC stand 3C88 (Hall3) and say hello. Also have a look at the DVD's we are showing with details of club cars and events along with our favourite Classic Team Lotus DVD of Emerson taking the Goodwood hill at speed in the Type 72 - even if you have seen it before its worth another look.
Cheers,
Tim.

Yes, well volunteered, Eddie and I run the NEC show so I'll get Eddie to include your car as an exhibitor, I will confirm all the detail as the year progresses.

Have not wasted time, ensured I don't take any work on for the show days, checked up on dates and allowed a day either side of it. Booked hotel, made arrangements for the wife to go to a local health spa for the Saturday, booked the transport trailer (so I can have the car fully valeted and not get it dirty driving down).

I like to get organised as early as I can, wife said shame I cant run the business as good as I do my hobbies !

To be honest I have booked Travelodges on the company account, everyone else wanted 65 plus a night and Business Account Holders with Travelodge get discount rooms at 19. Its about 3 miles from the NEC but I have had to book three rooms as I have a large family plus one of my drivers is driving the transporter down with the car on so its him and his wife as well.

I normally use Laterooms.com they are great for good deals.

I have used Travelodges a lot in the past ... good value for money for trips that don't require luxury accommodation and also even cheaper rates if you book well in advance. It will be ideal for the NEC also.

Look forward to the show this year already ... Tim I think your new Elan would have a place also (not that I'm biased) Wink
